Turkish composer Emre Şener’s latest piece, Traummaler, is now available on all major music platforms through DoReMint Productions. Scored for violin, organ, and four clarinets, the piece was recorded at the Juilliard School in New York, where Emre is currently pursuing his graduate studies.
The recording features violinist Bright Johnston, organist Alex Leonardi, and clarinetists Anoush Pogossian and Anju Aoto.
Traummaler invites listeners into a dreamlike sound world, blending long, cyclical melodies with vast sonic spaces in a unique narrative.
About the piece from the composer’s words:
Late at night, I would sit in Paul Hall, staring at the empty stage where a great organ -essentially a machine- dominates the space. I imagined the space resonating and vibrating with the sound of its thousands of pipes. I imagined a solo violin -perhaps the least mechanical, the most sensitive of instruments- singing an endless melody above it. Finally, four clarinets -human pipes- bridged the vast space between these two worlds. When performing this piece, let time dissolve. Erase any sense of pulse. Paint a dream.
