Born in Kayseri in 1983, Halil Tekiner studied pharmacy at Ankara University, where he also completed his master’s and doctoral studies. He later conducted research at Harvard, Wisconsin, and Marburg universities. Seeing science and art as creative forces that enrich one another, he explores how classical music engages with the human spirit, medicine, and culture. Since 2010, he has written for Turkey’s Classical Music Magazine Andante on subjects such as composers’ illnesses, medical themes in music, and its broader cultural history. His piano albums Elleri Var Özgürlüğün (2022) and Musical Vignettes (2023) reflect his enduring interest in musical expression. Prof. Tekiner is a faculty member at Erciyes University and President of the International Society for the History of Pharmacy.
